My Greatest Fear
My face contorts under the dull orange glow,
My lip aggressively chewed - time running low.
My heart pumps and jumps, faster and harder;
My mind knows that I cannot go much farther.
The other people fly straight by, content in their hurry;
No abject stress, crushing doubt, or depressing worry.
They all seem so happy. What am I doing wrong?
Why did I let this go, ignored and unattended, for so long.
Some people fear germs, spiders, or even snakes.
I laugh at these - they are not true fears, but fakes.
There is only one truly terrifying thing in life;
The sudden appearance of the fuel warning light.
